IN SHORT, I wanted an easy to manage platform where I can give discounts on studio hire for the loyalty of joining the SPLASH POINT SUPER SUB TIER. In doing so, you will be supporting the studio each month by potentially committing to a little more studio hire and of course the initial fee - which is where it helps me.By joining the SPLASH POINT SUPER SUB TIER, Patreon will actually be free and save you money by booking as little as 4 hours each month, and there will still be savings on a further 6 hours!
If you saw my previous blog about Patreon, I've since changed up the tiers for better rewards and lowered the cost of the BLOG / NSFW tier, which is just somewhere I can share stories with NSFW images that would have to otherwise be censored on social media - more about that below.
In fact, often social media platforms will shadow-ban you for as little as lingerie images - unless of course that lingerie is from a massive company paying them money to advertise, and then they're really cool with it! I could blog said posts here of course, but Image heavy blogs would eat in to my storage with my website hosts, and Patreon just grants me the freedom and a small reward for the effort.
I may have called it a NSFW tier to entice people, but it will not be porn! In fact, if you don't like nude photography because you deem it as crass and narrativeless, some of the philosophy explained within these blogs may change your mind! My very first nude shoot, which also happens to be my very first blog on Patreon, the whole concept of that shoot is an exploration piece exploring the perceptions of nude modelling. I talk about how nervous I was, what the models' attitude was like, I even ran an experiment by handing her my camera to see what selfies she'd take when I left the room to make tea, and as to whether she'd purposefully push the boundaries. And that kinda explains the above image as that was part of said shoot :)

By subscribing to the SPLASH POINT CLUB TIER, you will also freely unlock the £5 SPLASH POINT SUPPORTER TIER - or you can just support us in a small way by unlocking that alone if you're not a photographer/model who is likely to hire the studio. The £5 tier perks won't grant you a discount, but they will get you uncensored images that I can't share on social media, along with some blogs talking about the shoots that resulted in those images. In fact, for you actual photography enthusiasts, I'll probably include some blogs about other interesting safe for work shoots too, but for those of you who just want nudes/uncensored images (I won't judge), I'll include plenty of them as well. I want there to be a balance, so everyone gets some enjoyment and a benefit.
For our UK subscribers only, next up is the £15 SPLASH POINT POLAROID CLUB TIER. This will also grant you the £5 tier for free too, so access to the blogs and NSFW images, but for any collectors out there, this will also get you a signed Instax each month with free delivery in the UK.Along with the discount perks of 25% on 8 hours, in the £20
SPLASH POINT CLUB TIER (and super sub), we'll be taking model requests off Patreons, with the aim being to bring said model to the studio and organising a casual day that subscribers have picked between themselves and can use their discounted time for (should they wish).Unlike formal studio days that I typically organise each month, as mentioned, your discounted credit will be available to use, and I will still do the heavy listing and happily approach the model and sort the logistics. I can offer them perks such as free accommodation as I do for all studio day models to help with the budget, but I'll ultimately have no control over their rates, but nor will I turn them away as long as you guys are happy! Typically, I have to make sure studio days are logistically viable for the majority before any confirmation of booked slots, so that means some models get pushed aside, but if you guys want them bad enough at their stated rates and I can guarantee a day between you all that you can do, I'm happy to try and make it happen!I will also do narrated retouching videos if you like? I'll give a running commentary about the image I'm retouching and what I'm looking for, and you can then ask questions etc should you wish, which I can answer directly or do a video on. The Polaroid Club tier isn't included in this one, purely because I figured fewer photographers would be interested in me raising the price slightly to cover that cost of film and postage (potentially), and I don't assume other photographers would want to collect any images I've taken!
Next up is THE BIGGIE - the £50 SPLASH POINT SUPER SUB TIER - so if you really want to help out the studio, subscribe to this one! Actually, that's a lie, because this one will enter you in to the lottery, in fact, no, I've changed my mind, if you sub here, that's £40 right there! Subbing here also includes the discounts of the Splash Point Club tier as mentioned above (or see tier), but I'll go one further, and I'll do the first two discounted hours at 50%, so a 4-hour booking actually saves you a tenner! You still have 6 more hours of hire then at 25% off too, so it's a lot less of a commitment to get your money back and make a saving than the Splash Point Club Tier.We will also do some sort of merch each month for you'll to keep. I fancy some guitar pics and beers mats, y'know, fun stuff rather than a t-shirt, so money made from this tier will also go towards that, which is why I say I'm lying, because it could end up costing me more - but I guess it'll help out with some fun promo material that we can all collect and/or give away too.I also fancy doing some sort of collectable cards with a few rare ones, aka short runs of some and maybe even signatures too. We could also do a movie night / physical meet, like a camera club social - there's plenty of scope here to have fun and communicate on what you'd like to see and do.
Go big or go home with the £500 SPLASH POINT SHOOTS FOR YOU TIER! I'll hire a model and shoot some studio sets for you. That could be fun, for someone crazy enough to do it, right? It will of course depend solely on what it is that you want shooting, and it being viable with the model and at their digression - I obviously can't promise that a certain model will agree to the shoot, but I can ask!
